Global health practice and research is important because population dynamics such as migration and tourism can have significant impact on Florida communities and the US population. Starting with the proximal Latin American and Caribbean nations and expanding to other regions, UCF will develop a hub for global health practice and research through strategic partnerships with community, academic, government and non-governmental organizations. Areas of exploration will include but are not limited to HIV/sexually transmitted infections, substance use, inequity, mental health, and prevention of infectious disease.
