Our Head and Neck Cancer project results from our close collaboration with Professor Wojciech Golusinski’s group at The Greater Poland Cancer Centre, the only cancer centre in the region of Greater Poland that uses fully combined cancer treatment including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Using samples collected by our colleagues we are working on development of the biomarkers for Head and Neck Cancer that will allow early detection and better prediction for the affected patients during and after the treatment. In our studies we are focusing on small non-coding RNAs (sncRNAs) and their targets. We try to determine the pattern of serum sncRNAs and the mechanism by which these blood circulating sncRNAs regulate recovery or recurrence of the disease. We believe that determining specific biomarkers in blood and the specific mechanism will allow easy and non-invasive frequent screening for all high-risk and already affected patients.
