Highlights from the 2017-2018 Year in Review
Clinic Statistics:
- 117 total patients cared for, and 238 total patient visits
- Continuity of care is one of the unique elements that KNIGHTS Clinic provides
- Average patient wait times reduced by 11 minutes from 2016-2017
- 74 patients educated about lifestyle, 15 patients educated regarding medication, and 28 different medications were discussed during patient education encounters
- 32 lab visits were conducted, ranging from phlebotomy to PFTs
- 80% of patient satisfaction surveys reported “Very Satisfied” with the overall clinic experience
- 5 total categories: Very Satisfied, Satisfied, Neutral, Unsatisfied, and Very unsatisfied
New Changes to KNIGHTS Clinic:
- Implemented an intake team for all patients
- Revised patient pair (medical student volunteer) training
- Added new positions (Quality Improvement Committee)
- Created patient pair checklist to improve timing and quality of care for patients
Student Accomplishments:
- 12 KNIGHTS Clinic posters were accepted and presented in Omaha, Nebraska on February 2, 2018
- 2 KNIGHTS Clinic Board members were selected for national leadership positions
- Meagan Acevedo nominated for Conference Coordinator 2018-2020
- Ayan Nasir nominated for Finance Chair 2018-2020
