Biography

My name is Lauren Nunez, and I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences with a minor in psychology at the University of Central Florida. Through my commitments, I am interested in exploring and offering aid to vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on the psychological impacts of substance abuse on maternal and pediatric health. I joined this research group as a way to further explore and contribute to efforts aimed at improving health outcomes in the communities I can offer aid to. My passion for bridging these healthcare gaps has been shaped by my academic experiences, missionary work, and clinical exposure. I am continuing to build my clinical skills and patient-centered perspective through clinical work and active volunteering. I aim to become a pediatric physician focused on improving healthcare access and outcomes for children and families in underserved communities by integrating my academic knowledge with hands-on experience.
