Biography

My name is Katherin Sanchez, and I am a Biomedical Sciences master’s student at Florida Atlantic University and a University of Central Florida alumna. I graduated from UCF in Spring 2024 with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Psychology. I am also a licensed EMT in the state of Florida, and my experiences in emergency medicine have strengthened my passion for bridging the gap between healthcare professionals and the patients they serve.

Born and raised in South Florida to immigrant parents from Nicaragua, I am a proud first-generation college student. My goal is to become a physician and serve underrepresented communities while integrating clinical care with research. My research experience has included projects exploring PTSD, cannabis use, and the effects of COVID-19, among other areas of biomedical and behavioral health research.

I look forward to continuing to grow as a researcher and future physician while using my education and experiences to make a meaningful impact in my community.
