Interested in helping train the next generation of healthcare providers? Have a flair for communication and acting? The UCF College of Medicine needs you.

The college is seeking members of the public who are interested in becoming “standardized patients” (SPs) – people who are trained to portray various symptoms for students in the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center. First- and second-year M.D. students interview, examine and interact with SPs as a way to practice their clinical skills and bedside manner in a safe, educational environment.

SPs need to have their own transportation to the college;s Medical Education Building in Lake Nona and have an interest in teaching and interacting with students. The college is looking for SPs of all ages – anyone 18 and over is eligible. And we’re seeking SPs who have a variety of cultural backgrounds, including bilingual participants who can help students practice their medical Spanish.

SPs are eligible for pay. Interested in helping to create tomorrow’s healthcare leaders? Please call us at 407-266-1153.
