Biography

Dr. Sanjana Mathur received her M.B.,B.S from the University of the West Indies, Faculty of Medicine, located in Trinidad and Tobago. She has a background of clinical practice in general, plastics, burns and reconstructive surgery and an interest in global health.

She has served many roles since her entry into UCF College of Medicine as a Research Mentor in the FIRE Module since March of 2017. Since then, she has become an Adjunct Faculty member in the Clinical Skills & Simulation Department as an instructor in Internal Medicine, a Portfolio Advisor to students, and student advisor within the Student Academic Support Services office. Most recently, she has taken on the role as lead faculty to create and design a novel M3 elective course for rising M4’s who are preparing for the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge exam.

Dr. Mathur is currently completing her Master’s in Public Health and is continuing her work in global health, with an interest in improving health outcomes in underserved and vulnerable populations.

Dr. Mathur has reached beyond her medical education experience to volunteer in the community to help others in need. She previously held a leadership role in the UNICEF Children’s Action Team of Orlando and has actively supported the United Nations Association Orlando Chapter, as well as Paving the Way, a group that aims to end human trafficking.
