Biography

Ms. Pamela Herring began her career in an academic setting starting at Keiser University in Lakeland, Florida as the Assistant Librarian. She gained further experience in academic libraries as the Copy Cataloger at Valencia Community College. From 2006 to 2012 Ms. Herring was a Librarian at the Osceola Library System, where she maintained and developed the library’s electronic resources, training materials and website. During her time there she developed, scheduled and taught computer classes for the library system. She managed the reference librarians and conducted all new employees training. Ms. Herring assisted in drafting an LSTA Grant for the implementation of resources vending machines.

Ms. Herring joined the Harriet F. Ginsburg Health Sciences Library in 2012 as the library’s Electronic Resources Librarian.  As Electronic Resources Librarian, Ms. Herring is responsible for collection development, negotiating and licensing electronic resources and content management and maintenance of electronic resources on the library’s website.

Ms. Herring earned her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. She is a member of the Medical Library Association (MLA), and is a Provisional Level member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP).
