Professor Thompson’s research interests and teaching focus on developing and applying economic, dynamic, risk, decision, and integrated mathematical models to evaluate and communicate the benefits of preventive medicine interventions and global health policies.   Prior to joining the UCF College of Medicine, Dr. Thompson served on the faculty in the Departments of Health Policy and Management and Maternal and Child Health at the Harvard School of Public Health and in Adolescent Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital.  She created and directed the Kids Risk Project at Harvard between January 2000 and January 2009, at which point she created Kid Risk, Inc. as a self-standing, non-profit organization (www.kidrisk.org).
