About Silvana Montautti, MD
Dr. Silvana Montautti began her medical career at the University of Montemorelos in Nuevo León, México, where she earned her MD degree. She continued her studies with a Psychiatry Residency and Psychopharmacology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Montautti is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Montautti has over 35 years’ experience in the medical field. She currently serves as the Chief of Psychiatry with the Orlando VA. Prior to this, Dr. Montautti held many other roles with the Orlando VA, including Acting Chief of the Mental Health Service, Team Leader of the Mental Health Clinic, and Staff Psychiatrist. Dr. Montautti held several committee chairmanships, and holds numerous committee memberships, including the Mental Health Executive Council, HEDIS Workgroup and Mental Health Performance Improvement Committee.
In partnership with the VA, UCF College of Medicine has identified individuals that provide a significant contribution to the college and medical students. Dr. Montautti joined the college in April of 2016 as part of this partnership. VA faculty members are invited to participate in teaching assignments, curriculum and admissions committees, student affairs and research mentorship. Their contributions make a significant impact for both the college and students.
