Each year, AOA National Office makes available funding and awards to medical students and faculty at any medical school with an active AOA chapter. Unless otherwise stated, applicants need not be a member of AOA to apply. These awards recognize accomplishments in scholarship, leadership, professionalism, and service; these qualities are endorsed by AOA as part of accomplishing its overall mission which is to improve care for all.

Congratulations to our Chapter Administrator Soraya Smith as she is recognized with the Alpha Omega Alpha Administrative Recognition Award for 2015.
Recently, Jonathan Kibble PhD, assistant dean for medical education and professor of physiology, was honored with the with the 2015 Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award for being “a medical educator who inspires students to learn and whom teachers aspire to emulate.” Congratulations Dr. Kibble.
Dr. Alix Casler, an enthusiastic volunteer faculty who has been involved in many aspects of the UCF COM curriculum from Practice of Medicine and the Pediatric Clerkship to participating in the annual MedPact trip to the Dominican Republic has been named the UCF Zeta chapter AΩA Volunteer Clinical Faculty for the 2015-2016. This is just on of many awards that Dr. Casler has received for her teaching at our college. We are eternally grateful and thankful to Dr. Casler and all of our volunteer faculty.
