Dean’s Message

Messages from College of Medicine Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean Deborah C. German, M.D. cover a wide range of topics from the remarkable number of applicants for our 40 available spaces to the ongoing construction at Lake Nona. There is reference to local media coverage, videos and other features about the College. These are all items of interest to our community of friends who have an affinity for our community’s medical school.

PEP Talk

Richard Peppler, Ph.D., is the Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs and Interim Chair of the Department of Medical Education. Each quarter he publishes PEP Talk, a newsletter for volunteer faculty who support the College’s curriculum.

Volunteer faculty members serve as preceptors or as clinical role models to students throughout their medical school careers. Volunteers may lecture, demonstrate a particular skill or serve as mentors, helping students in individual research projects.

Through the newsletter, Dr. Peppler encourages participation and teamwork among the volunteers whose participation is key to building a successful academic medicine program.
