Technology Resources

Educational Technology Services provides:

  • Support with educational applications including MEDS, Word, PowerPoint, Virtual Microscope Photoshop Elements, SnagIt, Netter, iTunesU, ADAM, etc.
  • One-on-one consultations for assistance with utilizing educational technologies for class assignments.
  • Multi-media support in educational content – including images, graphics, video and learning objects.
  • Support with storyboard, capture, scanning, editing, and conversion of images and/or videos.
  • Support with capture, edit, conversion and delivery (via iTunesU, DVD, streaming, hard drive) of classroom lectures.
  • Hardware, operating system, network connection, and antivirus troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshooting with library resources, software, and check-out equipment.

PowerPoint

PowerPoint is a Microsoft Office program that allows users to create appealing presentations and display information in a graphical format. It can be used in conjunction with the TurningPoint audience response system for enhanced interactivity in the classroom or with Adobe Presenter to produce online multimedia presentations:

TurningPoint is the College of Medicine’s audience response system, which allows students to use physical “clickers” or laptop computers for submitting responses:

 

Olympus

Olympus server allows faculty and students to access, annotate, save, and link to a rich set of medical slides:

  • Viewing Slides on a Windows Computer
  • Viewing Slides on a Mac Computer
