The new facility houses the Health Sciences Library, Bioskills Center, Clinical Skills Center, Simulation and Learning Lab, Microscopy and Virtual Lab, and the Anatomy Lab.
The College of Medicine is located on the new 50 acre Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona located about 25 miles south of the University of Central Florida. South of the campus are protected wetlands and uplands. North of the campus is a planned 80+ acre town center with mixed-use retail area. Pedestrian-friendly nature trails connect to nearby residential neighborhoods, retail and entertainment activities, natural areas, lakes, parks, and schools.
Anatomy is taught in a high-tech 8,100 square foot lab with 22 dissection tables, 2 preparation rooms, cold storage, demonstration area, and space for future research. The lab is available for reservation.
The Harriet F. Ginsburg Health Sciences Library at Lake Nona is a new state-of-the-art 12,300 square feet facility with 8,000 square feet devoted to study space.
The Anatomy Lab also serves as a Bioskills Center that is available for reservation to train physicians and other health care providers. This educational facility features a 3500-square-foot dividable bioskills/cadaver laboratory and more.
The College of Medicine Café prepares and sells meals and snacks from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
